Eilish O’Carroll will be instantly recognisable to the thousands of fans of hit RTE/BBC comedy show Mrs. Brown’s Boys, in which she plays Mrs. Brown’s put-upon best friend Winnie McGoogan. But her own fascinating real-life story is as far from Winnie’s as you can imagine…
LIVE LOVE LAUGH is Eilish’s self-penned and award-nominated one woman show, which reveals her own emotional and comic journey to coming out in older age. Funny, fragile, honest and poignant, it charts her early years growing up in ‘50s Dublin, moving on through two marriages and raising two children before falling in love with her best friend and realising, finally, in her 40s, that she was gay.
Now 60, Eilish’s personal mantra of Live Love Laugh not only highlights her attitude to life but encompasses the spirit of the show itself.
